Our aim is to reduce motorcycle casualties on our roads. The apphasbeen designed for young motorcyclists to provide information onhowto stay safe on the road, together with information on the useofprotective gear; to encourage young riders to wear this gear wehaveoffers on clothing linked to the app and a competitionoffering freegear. We have filmed 8 episodes of ‘The Adventures ofBiker Jack’with a different road safety topic on each video. Thesewill bereleased through the app weekly and linked to thecompetition. Tosupport young riders should they be unfortunateenough to beinvolved in an accident, the app will allow them tostore emergencycontact information and links through GPS to letthem know theirposition. It will explain what they need to do inthe event of anaccident. We are working with West MidlandsAmbulance Service, whowill be able to identify anyone with the appby a colour-codedsticker on their helmet.
